Indigoblu challenge - Summer florals

Hi folks
my favorite theme flowers, this time I have made origami flowers and spiral flowers from Indigoblu papers and stamped images.
the paper stacks are  amazing, I used  floral fantasy mixed media paper just click here to take you to it.
The papers are beautiful unaltered but what would be the fun in that eh? they were gessoed, painted and distressed a little before making up into flowers, the spiral flowers were made using stamped and painted card stock.
The flowers have wire through the centres  held on with buttons these were secured to the MDF pot using hot glue and draped with natural fibres to hide the wires.
the MDF pot had a coat of gesso and the paints were dry brushed onto the pot I love the distressed look and the paints are just yummy so thick and luscious a dream to work with, I also stamped a pattern randomly to add a little depth to the pot, hope you like it
here is the complete article-

here are a few close up's too-

the button were painted and stamped too.

Indigoblu challenge - June 2016 -Brown and Teal

Hi folks,
well time is flying by don't you think, it was the first day of summer yesterday, raining I know but it looks more promising today, I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Well down to business  this months challenge, the theme is brown and teal a gorgeous yummy colour combination.

I love making flowers, it a real passion of mine. so I made a wreath.
I chose to make my own paper by spraying stamping card with Town house teal and Hot cocoa acrylic paints, you only need a small amount in the spray bottle topped up with water, shake then spray.
When this was dry I stamped on it using Stazon black ink  using Kevin's gang A6 stamp set, these are such fun cats to play with.
I also made flowers with the stunning Indigoblu Floral Vignettes 12x12  mixed media papers which can be found here . This paper was given the spray treatment too.

Flowers were then created using various dies and techniques,

the wreath is a Hessian covered circle, the flowers and fancy bits were attached using silicone glue.

hope you like it don't forget to check out the other DT members interpretations too at Indigoblu blog

here are  some of close ups of the flowers

well thats all for this month take care

Indigoblu challenge for April 2016 "Spring is in the air"

hello folks
hope you are well today, when I made my  piece for this challenge this weather was glorious, sunny, warm with a gentle breeze, huh!!  it is now raining, there are hail stones falling from the sky and the clouds go from a stunning blue to a cloudy grey all the four seasons in one day.

And this is my piece  ta da,

The main focal point is the stamped image Collecting Flowers, I added colour using polychromo pencils. I then cut this out and started on my background

The background has been made using the stamp Sarah's Choice and stampin up inks.

The flowers are die cut from papers that I had randomly covered with ink and scrunched up, there is also a doily that has been inked and distressed to add a further layer.

well that's all for today, next time I blog I'm hoping for sunshine not showers, weel we can all dream can't we xxx
Bye for now
love

Indigoblu challenge March 2016

Hello folks,
Well it is the first day of spring and the sunshine is just glorious, the theme for this challenge is pink, green and yellow beautiful spring colours.
Well here is my take on the challenge, a lovely spring card that will make you smile.

The background was created using my gelli plate and the lush Indigoblu paints , I'm loving layers at the moment.
The butterflies, greenery and swirls are from the stamp set-  Wild meadow.
The rings are from the - Limor circles
The butterflies were stamped and fussy cut to add depth to the card, I just loove fussy cutting so relaxing.

Well that is all for now folks, why don't you get out those stamps and paints and enter the challenge  pop over to the blog to see more inspiration from the rest of the wonderful design team

see you soon good luck
